MEDIA, PA (November 28, 2011) – Home Helpers Delaware Valley Marketing co-op (offices serving Bucks County, Berks County, Chester County, Delaware County, Montgomery County, Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley and South Jersey) in collaboration with the Great Guys Group, a non-profit organization that provides financial resources to families burdened by cancer, has donated $500 to The Riddle HealthCare Foundation to support the Family Resource Center at the Riddle Hospital Cancer Center.

Riddle Hospital, through The Riddle HealthCare Foundation, a non-profit charitable group, established the Family Resource Center to enhance the experience of cancer patients and their caregivers at the Cancer Center when coming in for treatments. Maryann Dotts, Mary Jo Grove and Judith Sharbaugh are just a few of the volunteers that help on a weekly basis.  All three are cancer survivors and received treatment from Riddle. The volunteers provide lunches, snacks, coffee, daily newspapers, and most important, a welcome smile.

In October, Home Helpers teamed up with the Great Guys Group to host the Ruby 5k Run & Walk.  Proceeds raised were in excess of $6,000.  This donation was made possible as part of Home Helpers’ and the Great Guys Group’s commitment to the communities they serve.

“We are just thrilled to receive this donation,” said Dotts, Committee Chairperson for Riddle’s Cancer Center Advisory Committee that runs the Family Resource Center.  “Because of organizations like Home Helpers and Great Guys Group, we are able to continue to provide the little things that make a big difference to our patients.”

“The Family Resource Center and the Cancer Center Advisory Committee was selected as one of our recipients because my business partner and friend John Squires received great care during his treatment for lung cancer,” said Tom Carroll, President of the Home Helpers co-op.  “Not only did John see first-hand how the Center helps people, but is a huge supporter in what they do.”

Home Helpers offers a full range of non-medical caregiving services for people coping with a lifelong illness or disability, those recuperating from a recent surgery or hospitalization and seniors.  Home Helpers’ mission is to empower its clients to have the best possible life experience given their own personal situation.

The Great Guys Group is dedicated to Bringing Hope Home to the community by financially and emotionally supporting local cancer patients and their families. With the donations it receives, the organization is directly helping to keep families who are battling cancer in their homes, with the lights on, heat on and phones working.  “We are honored to be a part of this donation,” said Paul Isenberg, CEO and Founder of Great Guys Group.  “Every dollar theFamilyResourceCenter receives impacts every person that walks through their doors.”
