As the Premier Sponsor of the 2011 Southeastern Pennsylvania Annual Dementia Conference, Home Helpers invites you to attend the 2011 Early Stage Town Hall Meeting, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association.

The 2011 Early Stage Town Hall Meeting is intended specifically for people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder and are early stage. Taking place in conjunction with the Annual Southeastern Pennsylvania Dementia Conference, this afternoon program will be filled with information, education and an opportunity for your voice to be heard.

The audience will be actively involved in structured discussions in the areas of:

⦁Diagnosis: including principles for a dignified diagnosis
⦁Safety: understanding the challenges and psychosocial implications of structured safety
⦁Awareness: Investigating approaches to helping others understand the experience of a memory related disorder

Keynote presenters include:

Jason Karlawish, M.D.: an Associate Professor of Medicine, a Senior Fellow of the Center for Bioethics and of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, and a Fellow of the Institute on Aging at the University of Pennsylvania.

Valerie T. Cotter, DrNP, CRNP, FAANP: an Advanced Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Adult Health Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing. Over the past twenty years, she has provided leadership and education in gerontologic nursing and nurse practitioner field.

The Town Hall Meeting will be held on Monday, April 4th, 2011 at The Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, 1160 First Avenue, King of Prussia, PA. The meeting starts at 1:15 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
